For students in Papillion La Vista Community Schools, even though the school year has ended the opportunity to visit a school library has not. Due to proximity or access to public libraries, economic factors, and busy parent schedules, not every student reads as much as they would like during the summer. To encourage reading throughout the summer, the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation is working with dedicated district educators at five elementary schools to stay open for our Summer Library program. Bell, Golden Hills, La Vista West, Patriot, and Prairie Queen Elementary School libraries will open at least once a week for six weeks for students to read and check out books this summer. All students, including incoming kindergarten through outgoing sixth graders who reside in Papillion La Vista Community Schools are invited to participate.
