Eight Midlands Place businesses have committed to support Papillion La Vista students with the Second Annual Midlands Place Scholarship. Participating Midlands Place businesses are pledging to award eight hard-working students with a $2,000 scholarship. Midlands Place businesses will give $1,000 for each scholarship awarded, which will be matched by the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation for a $2,000 value.

The businesses providing these $2,000 scholarships are:

Athletes' Training Center SmallCakes
Fairfield Inn & Suites Spin! Neapolitan Pizza
Ollie & Hobbes Sport Clips
Premier Family Medicine Wild Rice Sushi & Grill

Applications are available to pick up at the participating businesses.  Students are asked to complete a community service project then report on what was learned from their experience. Participating business had the option of selecting their own scholarship criteria. Students may submit just one Midlands Place application, so they are invited to review all applications to see which one they may best qualify for.

“The Midlands Place Scholarship Program made a real impact for the children of our Papillion La Vista Community Schools this past year,” says Executive Director of the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation, John Erickson. “The Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation is grateful to each of the fine organizations that have agreed to continue this important program.  It has been an honor to partner with the businesses of Midlands Place to make a difference for our students”

Russell Daub, Midlands Place developer adds, “Last year’s first program was very successful, and the merchants of Midlands Place have recognized the value of this effort to their community and are excited to make this year’s scholarships even better than last year.”
