Midlands Community Foundation recently presented local nonprofit organizations with $94,166  in grants.  Midlands Community Foundation's mission is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement and service. This project will increase awareness and interest in STEM careers, and better prepare students for a future in this important industry.

The Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation received $6,000 to enhance STEM programming at La Vista Middle School, Papillion Middle School, and Liberty Middle School. Papillion La Vista Community Schools is invested in providing opportunities for students to explore a variety of careers through the Nebraska’s Career Education Model. Science, technology, engineering, and math are a part of all the career pathways and a great way to expose students on a deeper level to the vast number of careers students may pursue in the future. To create a stronger foundation for student’s exploration, the schools aim to provide more opportunities for students in middle school.

Thank you, Midlands Community Foundation!
