Scott Woodard was the epitome of a student-athlete. He was a starter on the varsity football team, and qualified for state with the basketball team and as sprinter on the track team – and without suffering in his academic work. He continued performing at this high level as he went on to the University of Nebraska to major in pre-med and was a three-year varsity letterman playing wide receiver for the Cornhuskers.

Dr. Woodard received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska in 1986 and performed his residency in General Surgery at the Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut and New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Woodard is a trained and board certified surgeon adept in performing all aspects of surgery, including breast, gastrointestinal, and vascular surgeries. He is especially skilled in laparoscopic (less invasive) surgical procedures, which include gall bladder, appendectomy, hernia, and hiatal hernia (heartburn). Dr. Woodard joined the Family Medical Clinic in Estes Park, Colorado in May of 2000.

Dr. Woodard lives in Estes Park with his wife and three sons. He has been very active in philanthropic support of the youth of Estes Park and is a direct supporter of the Estes Park Medical Center Foundation. His support of scholarship programs for youth includes Sunrise Rotary Club, Bobcat Boosters, Lifelong Learning of Estes Valley Fit Family Five Mile, Estes Park Marathon, Families for Estes, and Estes Park Medical Center Foundation Dine for a Cause.
